It's the final countdown. Though, I wish this week would squeek by a little faster. I'm really crazy busy the next week and a half until my new job starts. It's kind of insane. Here's what's going on with me.
Today: Working the day shift from 9:30 until 6:30, training the girl who should replace me from 3:30 until the end of my day. Her name is Erika and supposedly took Marvin Olasky's terror of a class "Journalism and Religion." You'd think the man who invented the phrase "Compassionate conservative" would have compassion, but that man was certainly lacking in that department. All I remember from that class was him yelling at me for being Presbyterian and not believing in predestination. Man, that man was terrible. Though our TA was super cute.
Tomorrow: Working the night shift from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Regular crap. Nothing exciting.
Thursday: Working the day shift, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Catching a pattern yet? yeah, it is awful).
Friday: Off to the beach, if it's not underwater from Tropical Storm Dolly, about to hit the coast. We're staying in a nice condo on the beach in Port Aransas. Please, pray with me that the storm blows through quickly tomorrow and doesn't leave that much damage or seaweed in the Gulf.
Sunday: This is my busiest day. I hope to see Shelley while she's in town, but I'm just not sure. We're driving back from the gulf that morning. I have my farewell dinner for the Statesman that night at 7 p.m. Then, drinks afterward at the Gingerman. I think the night-shifters would kill me fi I didn't have an after party.
Monday-Wednesday: No clue on my work schedule. My boss has decided not to decide. How decisive, no?
Thursday: My last day of entrapment at the Statesman. That night I have book club with the business desk (which I intend on keeping up after I leave) and then it's Kathy Griffin/Project Runway night.
Friday: Fly up to Dallas to see my brother, sister-in-law, newphew (pictured in below post), Dad, Mom to celebrate their birthdays. Three birthdays in 4 weeks. Pretty intense.
Sunday: Fly back and get ready to start my new job the next day. Yay!
Yeah. I had to take a deep breath after all that too. Funny video? I agree:
