It's fantasy football time!

Well, I'm really starting to enjoy fantasy football. I came in 2nd place last year in a group of 10 guys, so that was pretty empowering. This year, my team name is the Mobile Midget Pimps. I have this stunning picture to go with it:

(This one's for you Christine)
OH MY GOD, IT'S GARY COLEMAN!
Anywho, my team is pretty strong. I got a couple sleepers and we'll see how they turn out. Here's my roster as it stands right now:

* Kurt Warner
* Maurice Jones-Drew (keeper)
* Steve Slaton (keeper)
* Calvin Johnson (keeper)
* Eddie Royal (sleeper)
* Kellen Winslow
* DeMarcus Ware
* Justin Tuck
* Cedric Griffin (homer)
* David Akers
* Felix Jones
* Donald Driver
* Jerious Norwood
* Sammy Morris
* Jason Campbell

OK, let's break it down. I traded Peyton Manning away, so I had to get some quarterback. And honestly, with a RB, RB, WR team like what I have already in my keepers, I don't need stellar points out of him. I drafted Campbell because even though I think he's a no-talent ass clown, I still need someone to play the week Warner is out, or for weeks when Warner remembers that he's old.

People made fun of me for the Eddie Royal pick up. Denver is going to be putting up weird number this year. And for those who remember, Kyle Orton loves receivers and can't throw to a tight end to save his life. And the Broncos play in one of the worst divisions in football, so surely at least four of the games, they'll put up strong numbers. Currently, he's the #3, but with both of his #1 and #2s with injury issues, he could easily move up to a #2 or #1 spot. He looked promising in the preseason games, which might gain him some playing time.

Everyone is calling Winslow a bust, but honestly, all TE are created equal unless you have Witten or Gonzalez.

I just found out that DeMarcus lost his status as a defensive lineman, which honestly it was unfair he even got to play that position because he rocks the kasbah so much. However, I think he's still going to shine as a Linebacker, and I think he can get over 20 sacks this season, easily. That guy is a beast.

Justin Tuck. Whoever thinks I shouldn't have drafted him, can suck on ice.

Cedric Griffin looked promising in the preseason. Honestly, he's a strong player and in that division, once again, he has a lot of opportunities for interceptions. Oh, and he's a Longhorn (what what!)

Who cares about kickers? I picked a kicker on a team that I thought would have issues this season getting into the end zone, but could get into the red zone.

Felix Jones, I needed a backup to my two stellar RBs. I mean, pretty much he can't suck completely. And with the way Marion Barber runs, he's prone to injury, slotting up Jones for some heavy carries.

Donald Driver. I had no choices at this point. I don't like Driver at all (as he broke my heart two seasons ago) but I'm willing to give him another shot.

Norwood is nuts. Eventually, Matt Ryan is going to need a break from throwing bombs all day and Norwood can handle the carries.

Sammy Morris is strong on a pass-happy offense. Eventually, Brady will hurt himself again and they'll be running the ball more.

So there's my team. I have another draft in two weeks. I'm OK with my roster, but happy with my keepers. Who knows, maybe this year will be my championship year. David is 0-4 against me and something tells me he wants to win ONE game. ;)

as someone who had K2 ruin his fantasy team last year and his actual football team for the past five seasons, i say "good luck." he's the best tight end in the league when he's healthy but i'm more likely to find a $3 bill in the next five minutes than he is to get through an entire season healthy.

don't really like the Royal pick but i think Campbell is rather underrated. he's going to have a big chip on his shoulder and this is like his first season with the same offensive coordinator as the year before. i also think Norwood could surprise people because Turner isn't going to be as good as he was last year.

and how the hell do you have three keepers? our league has a max of two and mine are going to put an uncomfortable dent in my salary cap!

Alright, I still hate football and think it's really boring, but I was amused by your picture of Gary Coleman.

Danny it should be noted re: the Royal pick that our league awards points for kick returns. So Norwood's that much better too. Also, no salary cap in this league, you sacrifice a 1st round pick for 1 keeper, a 1st and 2nd for 2, 1st 2nd and 3rd for 3.
