And so it begins

Well, the next 14 months of my life is going to be so insane, I barely have words. Sure, I'm getting married, but let's do a check here.

* July 3 - David Hudson's wedding (Evansville, Indiana)
* July 10 - Lisa's wedding (Dallas)
* July 16 - Ali's wedding (not sure yet, possibly Austin, possibly Houston)
* August 7 - Brandan's wedding (Dallas)
* Sept. 4 - My wedding (Austin)
* Oct. 16 - Sarah Ford's wedding (P-lano)
* Oct. 30 - Amanda's wedding (Dallas)

This is going to be crazy. I think I might need to purchase a wardrobe that is specifically things I can wear to weddings. Guess someone's going shopping...

Anywho, I bring this up because this weekend was Katie Brueckman's bachelorette party in Galveston. She's getting married on Sunday up in Dallas. Katie and I have known each other since 4th grade. At least, that's what we determined this weekend. We've gone to church together almost all of our life and gone to school together a majority of that time too. When I went up to Boston for college, she picked University Presbyterian Church to attend in Austin. When I transferred down to UT, she was studying abroad in Spain. What church did I randomly walk into and join? UPC. What activity at the church did I instantly sign up for? Handbell choir. Then, I get my first group email for the bell choir and see Katie's name on it. Not only did she choose this church, I realized, but she signed up for handbells. We really are close friends. :)

She's marrying her high school sweetheart, Brian, who she has dated for SEVEN YEARS. Something I really admired about Katie is she has always kept her priorities straight. Even though they got jobs in different cities, she made it work long distance. Even though she wanted to get her PhD, she did that while dating Brian. They waited until the moment was perfect for both of them. Really admirable in my book.

Either way, we had a blast in Galveston bar-hopping and getting Katie smashed. Even though I only knew one other person there, it was still really enjoyable.

Oh, and the fact that she's getting married the same weekend that I am just supports my theory that we are soul mates.

Wow, am I the only one who wasn't engaged for a year? Crazy. And that is quite a crazy schedule. I'll just have to congratulate everyone at your wedding when I see them all. :)

Haha, Danny. You crack me up. Yeah, Ash, seems to be a theme. A lot of us are already in the working world, though, which is probably why. You only get two weeks of vacation and have to request it at the beginning of the year. Probably half the reason. The other half for me is I never planned for my wedding, so I have a lot of planning to do.
