My new bike

Well, as you may know, I'm going to start training for my century ride in June. America's Most Beautiful bike ride circumnavigates Lake Tahoe and includes an out-and-back to historic Truckee, California. I think it will be loads of fun. Point being, I needed a bike to get started on this trek. And, thus, I will purchase tonight a Fuji Roubaix. This is what it looks like:

It's a really nice bike and fits me well. I've already fallen while riding it, which according to the salesman "I've been riding for 15 years and I fall at least twice a week." Made me feel better. But, it didn't heal the HUGE bruise I now have on my ankle any faster.

So, tonight's the night. I'm excited about the purchase. My dad is making the process as difficult as possible. Pretty much, I financing it through him so I don't get charged with interest. However, I'm not sure which is worse: Interest, or dealing with my dad when purchasing something. He's infuriating. Every other sentence, he'll mention how he "thinks it's stupid" and "how dumb it is to spend this much money on a hobby" and how "I don't even know how my hip will respond to this." Point being, he's being a bit of a bastard, but I guess that's the role he's supposed to play when it's technically his money. Considering, however, that I'll have the thing paid off to him in a matter of months, you think he'd be damn appreciative that I'm not some deadbeat.

But, considering this will be my view when I'm riding the race of my lifetime, I guess I can't complain.
