So, KXAN told me when I accepted this new job that I would be able to write. Well, considering the Statesman would have shot me like an out of line Chinese Gymnast if I THOUGHT about writing an article, this sounded like a big perk. And today, they were true to their word. Jackie Vego (ironically someone I went to journalism school with) and I wrote a story about tax-free weekend. Yeah, soft news, but at least it's something. AND, come September, we get bylines! Bylines!!! I'm really excited. We took tons of video to correspond. I'll try to post it if I can.
Overall, the new job is panning out well. It's really stressful, but I've always thrived off of that. Though, the thought of not taking vacation until September of 2009 is daunting (I'm saving it for a big trip with my family) but I'm hoping David and I can dodge on short trips using the two personal days I have each calendar year. Not during sweeps, of course.
This weekend, I'm hoping that it's sunny so I can lay out by the pool and not look so pasty white. Not that pale isn't awesome.
