LOST and found

So, it's taken me a couple of days to truly digest the awesomeness that is LOST. I've been trying to figure out what I wanted to say in my blog about the series. How to perfectly sum up what I'm feeling.

I realized, finally, that I can't. I can't summarize the show for anyone. I can't remotely described the emotions that the series has taken me through in the last six years.

I've read, what seems like, to be 100 articles on the finale. I've read through LOSTpedia a million times. I've visited my favorite LOST blog - The LOST Diary - numerous occasions, so I could better understand what I viewed.

Then, it hit me.
The best way to describe LOST is you can't understand it fully, which is the beauty of LOST.
I finally realized that the best part of LOST is that it's a mystery. Magical. I read this quote that the best part of magic tricks is that you don't know how they are done, yet you are still entertained by them. That is LOST. LOST is a mystery never solved. A magic trick never revealed, unless you were to watch closely.

I think, in time, after I view the entire series a few more times, I will better understand the idiosyncrasies of the series. But, right now, the best article I have read about it is this one.

Either way, there are very few television series that I am impressed with. Very few that I can't "call" every plot turn in. Sure, there are shows that I watch that I call every plot line for and I still watch it because it has entertaining values. However, no show like LOST has taken me on a journey and truly shown me what escapism was. For an hour a week, I would enter another world, one that didn't even exist, and everything would be believable.

I want everyone that I hold dear to experience what I have with this show. I hope that all of my friends rent it, Netflix it, download it, watch it online, stream it, just so they can be apart of this. Apart of this wonder that LOST has provided.

So, go out there, and give it a try if you haven't. If you didn't want to watch it because of all the hype, then I suggest you try anyway. It will live up to the hype. It is glorious.

This is EXACTLY how I feel about Harry Potter. I want everyone that I hold dear to experience what I have with reading Harry Potter. I want to share with everyone the wonder Harry Potter has provided for me. :)
