Concrete jungle where dreams are made

There is not a moment that goes by where I don't wish I was visiting New York.

While I was growing up, I would go to the city almost five times a year. I would stay in my dad's apartment near Times Square. I would walk around with my mom in Central Park. Here's an adorable picture of me about to go out into the city with my parents.

I loved going there. I don't normally talk about how 9/11 affected my family and especially father. And that's not what this entry is about. It's about how I miss the city.

I love watching Bravo, but especially the Real Housewives of New York. Ironically, it's not because of the women on the show. I just love seeing them walk around the city and go out to clubs at night. I love watching them walk the streets that I love.

I love watching movies that are filmed there. It makes me crave REAL pastrami reubens and running in Central Park. I get a HUGE smile on my face at An Affair to Remember and Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail and Requiem for a Dream and The Thin Man and Miracle on 34th Street and All About Eve and Sabrina and Seven Year Itch and Funny Face and North by Northwest and The Producers and Annie Hall and Tootsie and The Muppets Take Manhattan and Short Circuit 2 and When Harry Met Sally and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Home Alone: Lost in New York and Igby Goes Down and Elf and millions of other films. Why? Because all the characters are waltzing around the city. My dream city.

Point being, sometimes I just dream about it. And, last night, I had a very vivid dream where I was working there and happier than a clam. Maybe one day I'll make enough money where I can live in my dream city. What's your dream city?

My dream city is definitely New York. Or London.

Also, ADORABLE pic of Baby Blair.

It used to be New York. Now it's Austin.

I just visited there for the first time! It was lovely, I just wish I had time to soak it all in and really enjoy it. I'll have to go back when I'm not working!

I don't know if I've really found my dream city yet. I'd say stateside it's a tie between Boston and Seattle. Europe, tie between London and Paris. I just need to make billions of dollars and own several houses.

Good idea, Ash. I could never live in London (the weather would get to me) but I could totally live in Paris. I would live in Prague or Geneva too. :)

Lilly- I hear what you mean on Austin. I would love to live there again.
