I guess it's New Year's resolutions ...

So, I've never been much of a New Year's resolutions person. I'm usually pretty good with sticking with things or self-motivating, so I've never needed an aimless day on the Gregorian calendar to kick my own bum.

However, today I've decided to write down things in my blog that I intend to do this year.

1. I plan to get married in September. Being engaged, especially for this long of a time, can be difficult at times. David and I constantly are talking colors, food, venues, photos, accommodations, attendants, clothing, trips, thank you notes, registries...the list goes on and on. David has been a great support for this not-so-girly girl and I truly appreciate him. :)

2. I plan to lose a bit of weight. I'm not one of those delusional girls who thinks they are fat. By no means do I think I am fat. However, I would like to tone up a bit around my midsection, which has often been a trouble spot for me. I had a six-pack in ninth and tenth grade (thanks Drill Team!) and I'd like to get at least a semblance back of that. Maybe just a four-pack.

3. I plan to talk to my family more often. I talk to my parents everyday, however, I need to start calling my aunts, uncles, grandmother a little more often. I think maybe every morning, I'll designate a morning to call them. Like, every Monday I'll call my grandmother, etc.

4. I plan to cook more often. Once the holidays wrap up (pretty much including my birthday) I want to start cooking twice a week and David can cook twice a week. When David had surgery, we really fell out of that habit because he only had one usable arm. However, now that he's out of the cast, he'll be able to help a bit more around the house.

Overall, things that are doable.

Now, as for a more important note, David and I have purchase a brand, new TV. We are SOOOOOOOO excited. It's our first big purchase as a couple. We bought a mattress a while back, but that was on sale, so that was a little different and our washing machine that we bought was out of necessity, so that's a little different too. It is delivered on Jan. 3, just in time for Texas' potential National Championship on my birthday. That is either going to be an awesome birthday or a terrible one. Nothing in between this year.
