How 'bout them Cowboys?!!?

OK, so in case all of you have lived under a rock for the last 25 years, you may have noticed that I'm a bit of a sports fan.

Here are my following sports allegiances:
* Dallas Cowboys
* Dallas Stars
* Dallas Mavericks
* Kind of the Chicago Cubs (mainly because I hated baseball before dating David and he likes the team and when they win, he's happy)
* UT Longhorns everything

Now, the Stars have been disappointing me since we won the Cup and the Mavs have all but flopped in the playoffs ever since Dwyane Wade decided to get every call in the paint ever from a corrupt official. The Longhorns often get my hopes up and even more often times deliver.

However, the Cowboys have been another story. I start every season pessimistic, saying things like "If we get to above .500, I'll eat my Witten jersey." I am often a pessimistic sports fan. I think this is the reason:

If you go with low hopes for your team, they don't disappoint you as much when you lose. But when you win, you feel on top of the world.

I, also, have terrible luck. I know many people say things like "you make your own luck," but I think those people just have good luck and don't know what it feels like for things to often not go your way. Granted, I'm not complaining about my life. I love my life. However, it's comical sometimes the way things happen to me. I know David didn't believe in bad luck until he met me. Then he saw some ridiculous things happen to me and I thin he's now a believer.



Point being, I've found whenever I buy some sort of paraphernalia of a sports team, things go wrong. I bought a Tony Romo jersey. The next game, I wore it proudly. He broke his pinky. I bought a Demarcus Ware jersey. The next game I wrote it proudly. He fell down and had to be carted off in a stretcher, fears filled the crowd on whether he'd walk again. Let's just say I have a Jason Witten jersey, but I will not be wearing that throwback until the playoffs are over.

Point being, after the Cowboys had their first playoff win in 13 years, I have been watching for ladders, black cats and making sure not to step on any cracks until Feb. 7. :)
