So, the traditional first wedding anniversary gift is "paper." (For those who have never read Emily Post's books, here's a

So, we did get each other tickets (hence the paper reference) to Les Miserables in Denver. We're actually going to see it tomorrow (Tuesday). So, the day of our actual anniversary, we decided to go out to dinner (and by "we," I mean David surprised me with reservations at Cru).
Cru is a cute little wine bar (that might actually originate in Texas, if my research is serving me correctly) that is downtown in my favorite part of town:
Larimer Square. Larimer Square has strings of big bulbed lights strung across the street year round. There are shops and restaurants up and down the street, and it's a really romantic stroll. So, as we walked up to the restaurant, hand-in-hand, it certainly was a nice romantic moment.

For probably the first time in our relationship history, I remembered to take a photo when there was a day of significance. We were quite proud of ourselves.
So, we browsed the wine menu (pictured above) and found the wine flights that we each wanted to try. We wanted to share the flights of wine with each other too and then rate the wines on the comment cards they gave to us. So, we definitely got to try lots of wines that night.

Yes. There ARE 9 glasses of wine on that dinner table. Turns out when we both ordered our flights (which included three glasses of wine per flight), the waiter accidentally brought the wrong flight of wine to David. So, he looked down at the card and told the waiter. He apologized, got us the correct flight and let us keep the other flight. So, we essentially got 9 wines for the price of 6. Sweet. At that point, we couldn't let good wine go to waste, so we had to drink it all! David ordered the filet mignon, and I ordered the ahi tuna. Both were scrumptious.

For dessert, David chose the delicious chocolate mousse cake. It was a little too rich for me, but it was awesome simultaneously. As we headed home, we were really glad that we decided to go out for dinner.
The earlier part of the day, we slept in, watch the Star Wars marathon on Spike and then strolled through City Park with Milo. I would say that it was a successful first anniversary.

The star wars element definitely rounds out what sounds like an amazing day! PS, I love that you have a tag called "David is awesome." Cute! Congrats on your first anniversary
