I intended to lay out by the pool and get a tan, but it was so damn hot that David, Christine, Emily and I decided to stay in the pool instead of out of it.
That night, David was depressed about the loss of USA to freakin' Brazil, so we stayed in and watched Road to Perdition.
If you haven't seen this movie, I thoroughly suggest it. Though I am of the staunch belief that Sam Mendes is an incredible director who can find emotion in anyone. Below is the trailer:
It's really incredible. And has, like, 12 trillion people in it. But, the really interesting fact about this movie is about the little boy.
When I saw this in theaters, I said to myself, "Man, this little boy is talented."
Turns out he's not just talented at acting. He also got a scholarship to play baseball at Arizona State. However, I think he wasn't as talented as they thought he was and ended up leaving and playing for UC Irvine. So, he's 21 years old now and playing ball. Weird. Guess he should have stuck with acting.
Now, back to Sam Mendes. I can't wait to see Away We Go because I've loved everything that Sam Mendes has put together, so I can only imagine this movie will also be marvelous. His ability to make awkward, silent situations in film is unparalleled.
