My dad's asshole-ish nature comes in handy

So, my whole life I remember my dad being a jerk to people. Now, I interpreted it as being a jerk. But, in all honesty, he just wants what he wants and he wants it now. He feels that if he is paying someone money, they should do their job properly. He will send ANYTHING back at a restaurant, whereas, I would rather gouge my own eyes out than send something back.

However, today, witnessing him bitching all the time came in handy. I was looking through my online banking statement yesterday and came across a $29.22 charge to 24 Hour Fitness. Now, I used to belong to that gym, like, a year ago. But, I canceled. However, I looked back and realized they stopped charging me for a month after I canceled and then started up again. Meaning, they owed me a lot of money for that. Now, I had no proof except for my memory that I had canceled. I didn't get the guys' name that I talked to, which was stupid, but I knew I canceled it.

So, I called fuming. I screamed at the customer service rep, DEMANDING a refund of the money. I threw out every stop that my dad has taught me over the years to get what you want when you want it. Not only did they profusely apologize, but they refunded me the money. In full!

So, today, I pay homage to my dad. It was Father's Day on Sunday and I called him and sent him a gift. But sometimes it's the little things that make you really appreciate your father. And sometimes, it can be things you thought you'd never like about them. Things that made you blush as a 10-year-old now make you boast.

My dad gets what he wants too. I'm too much of a pansy with people like that though, so I either make Brett or my dad do it. :) Yay for the large Italian man!
