"No children under 6 will be admitted to the opera"
How wonderful. A place where I can guarantee NO crying children. Nothing is worse than listening to a gorgeous woman warble an aria, just to hear some spoiled 4-year-old screaming "When will all this noise stop?" I think this is why I love the opera. Now, if they were really smart, they would offer daycare AT the opera. In a separate building, no doubt. But, if you could drop your kids off (kind of like IKEA does) and have them stay there while you're at the opera, that would be genius. Also, they could have the opera livestreaming in the background while the kids played so they could watch it too if they wanted to. Early culture is pivotal.
Man oh man, hope they think of this soon. If I loved kids, I'd totally open one of these. Any takers?

I think they should open a daycare pretty much anywhere that requires your full attention and takes more than a half hour. They would make bank because I would totally pay for it. Plus, it's so much easier than testing out babysitters and finding one you trust and then matching up with their schedule when you want to go out. That's gonna suck.
like in office buildings! that would be so much cheaper than daycare too.
Yeah, the Statesman had daycare back in the day and canceled it. Too bad because that would be a great idea.
