Then, Saturday, I had my friend, Lauren Lindsay over. I hadn't seen her since high school and she just moved to Austin, so I had her over for dinner. We hung out, she lovingly ate my spaghetti and at least seemed to like it. Afterwards, one of David's friends from high school was having a party and I went with him to that. It was at that party that I had quite a discussion.
I'll be honest, this party was full of really smelly hippies. That's pretty much what grows up in Austin. I always joke with David that none of his friends shower, but sometimes it's really true. At this party, though, I ran into this guy Jordan that David knew in high school. He just graduated from Rice with a degree in religious studies. Now, some back story para Blair.

I used to want to major in theology. In fact, I wanted to major in theology and minor in philosophy so no atheist could ever argue with me. Nonetheless, that didn't happen. But, talking with this guy was really interesting. Just to hear his interpretations of Christianity as a whole, as well as other religions was really cool. So, I talked to that guy for about 30 minutes while David mingled with people he knew. I think this is why he doesn't mind taking me places where I don't know anyone; he knows I'll talk to a wall if he needs me to. :)

I wanted to major in Religious Studies, but then I realized that I wasn't going to get what I was looking for at a liberal arts school, especially since the classes I took were all about how Christianity is wrong (even Early Christian Thought and Hebrew Bible). The History of Antisemitism was interesting, except my teacher was a bitter old Jewish woman who blamed the entire history of Antisemitism on Christians...even in the B.C. years. I don't know how she made that work, but she did.
I love those people. It's like this whole Israel and Hamas conflict. Neither side is right. I mean, 80% of the country knows that. The other 20% are either Jewish, Palestinian or don't read.
