So, yesterday was inauguration day and I barely breathed. I was posting constantly and uploading photos and videos and everything. It was crazy. But, overall, I think our page turned out pretty sweet. It is kind of funny though. I almost missed the actual swearing in process because I was running back to master control to make sure our livestream was working.
I got to go out in the field and cover a nice little feature at Antone's which was fun.
I'll be honest, I'm quite hopeful in this country again. I had lost a lot of hope. Being in the press is hard sometimes because we just get all the information, sparing no details, and sometimes we can release it all to the public, but sometimes we can't. It's really hard to know all the facts, literally, and not be able to share it with everyone. What's even harder is having people write in and complain about something and not be able to respond with facts that would prove them wrong/support our decision. Being in the media is difficult sometimes. Then, again, I do get into premiere events and get free food, so I guess it all evens out.

It sounds like you are saying that you've heard a lot of bad stuff about Bush that nobody is allowed to say even thought people say really bad things about him anyway. Just out of curiosity, have you heard anything bad about Obama you're not allowed to share? Sounds pretty lopsided to me if you haven't. Not saying that Obama is a bad person. I was sad that he felt the need to bash President Bush in his speech, but overall I think he put me a little bit more at ease about himself. I still have yet to see what he will do, but since he's my President now I will support him. I just really hope that he lives up to all of the faith that so many people have in him. I really do, I would love for him to be successful.
Oh, you hear bad things about everything. More so things we do, like places we bomb, people that die, things that we can't share for a while. Trust me, the AP can't be lopsided. They don't know how to.
Bush bashed Clinton in his speech. It's a pretty common move. Especially when we ended up with a pretty unpopular president (in the end, mind you), I think it's natural to want to distance yourself from them. I mean, McCain did a lot of that, trying to distance himself from Bush, during his campaign.
I think Obama's got a lot on his plate. It's scary to think of what he has ahead of him. You know, Obama is the first president since Truman to enter into the presidency DURING a recession? Most recessions are self-contained in presidencies. Just an interesting fact.
No, I can never blame Bush on a personal level for the state that our country is in. It's never about people on a personal level. It's the decisions that everyone makes around them that become detrimental. That's why Cabinet confirmations are so important.
