Denver - HERE WE COME!

OK, once again, I find myself writing a blog entry about how David and I are about to move to a brand, new city. Well, it's happening again folks! Only difference this time is a) we aren't planning a wedding and b) we have less time to do it in.

So, here's the back story. I have a friend, Matt, who works for a marvelous station in Denver, Colorado. In fact, I was one of his references when he applied for the job. Matt worked with me in Austin. Well, once he found out that I was applying for a web producer position with www.9news.com, he set off -- bending everyone's ear about me and my "stellar" work in ATX. They liked my resume. They liked my cover letter. They called me and wanted me to interview. After conversations with about a trillion people at the station, I was hooked. Their station is huge. Their staff seems not only friendly, but young and hip (something I'm really looking forward to working with). I mean, for goodness sakes, they have underground, covered parking with a fitness center.

On Wednesday, they called me and offered me the job. They are helping with moving expenses, just like KRQE did, and are also giving me a pretty substantial raise. Denver is also market #16, while Albuquerque was #44. So, all in all, it's a great opportunity.

Here's what our calendar looks like. In case you can't tell, not only are both David and me Type A, but we also have to be. I will be moving up there in two weeks and David will follow about a week later. We have a lot of things to do besides packing up the house that we practically just moved into. We have things to cancel, addresses to change, all sorts of things.

All in all, David and I are pumped about this transition. Denver is a city that we can see ourselves living in for the long-haul. Heck, I might even let him convince me to buy a house (I know. Shocker!)

Mind you, I will miss all of my friends in Albuquerque. The good thing is 80% of them are avid skiers, so something tells me, this will not be the last time I see them. However, this move might be more hilarious than the last one to Albuquerque. We have two weeks. Two. That might be the fastest move I've ever done across state lines. But, I know we'll be happy there.

I only have two requests:

1. Everyone has to come visit us. Colorado is a wonderful state and has a lot of activities to offer. So, come.

2. Wish us luck. We're going to need it to carry out this hair-brained, whirlwind plan!
