Denver and I are best friends already

I've only been in Denver for three days so far. On Friday, Brandan, Ian, David and I played Rock Band until 2 in the morning. Saturday, we went out to Cheesman Park and threw the football around and kicked the soccer ball around for a few hours (it was 70 degrees and sunny outside. Just. Awesome.) We ran over to our new house to make sure it didn't look sketchy. It looks awesome so far (though we couldn't get inside yet). But the backyard looks huge and the porch is awesome. We're going to purchase a porch swing, we're thinking. On Sunday, we visited a church that I really enjoyed visiting and I think I'm going to join. Then, we went home and smoked a 5-pound brisket. That's right. Five pounds. After that, we watched UT piss away their potential NCAA advancement...then come back and make us think that we could win, just to get completely screwed by the refs and break our hearts. Thanks Longhorns. And today, it's 72 degrees outside, sunny and wonderful. I went to the grocery to get some supplies for the week and also bought new running shoes for my training.

All in all, I've already taken advantage of the gorgeous weather, city parks, commerce centers and friendships that I've formed over the last decade (that's right, Brandan, we've been friends for a decade!). It's been wonderful. I am so happy here already and I can't wait to start work tomorrow.

It sounds glorious! It was 60 here today...and will be 32 tomorrow with a winter storm warning. That's Michigan for ya, folks. Glad you're doing so well: moving is so overwhelming but I'm sure you'll love Denver!

I'm so glad you're loving it! You're making me want to put Denver very high up on that list!

PS - Brett will probably be going to school in January, which means we will be getting to our new assignment about a year from now. I've done research on some of the cities we could be in, and so far, Denver is on the top of the list! Maybe we will be there in a year.
