We now have God's gift to cooking and baking: A brand, new Kitchen-Aid mixer.

It does everything. However, I need to tell the back story to purchasing this mixer.
David and I got a present from Macy's that we didn't actually want. So, we decided to exchange it for something we did want. I went into Macys, they exchanged it with no problem and gave me store credit. David and I started to waltz around to find our everyday china that we really wanted. Well, the Macy's here didn't have the pattern we picked out. So, we decided to get a piece of luggage that we've been wanting.
We found the piece we wanted and went up to the checkout counter. We had the store credit and two $50 gift cards that people had given to us. They scanned the luggage, the store credit and one of the gift cards. The second gift card, however, error-ed out. Well, we really didn't want to spend that much money on a piece of luggage, so we had the guy put all the money back on the various cards and we left.
Then, David reminded me that we had lots of Bed Bath and Beyond gift cards that we could use. So, we headed there. While there, we had them print out our registry. Good. Lord. There were so many things on there that they did not have in the store. They all said "See Associate." The only thing on our registry that we could actually find in the store was a set of sheets. So, we went a different direction.
We wandered back to the electronic section and found our dream mixer. We had registered for a mixer, but just a smaller one would do now that I saw it in person. So, we put it in the cart and wheeled it to the front.
She scanned the item, removed it from our registry and then started on the mass scanning of gift cards. We had three BB&B gift cards and those elusive two $50 gift cards. She scanned the BB&B's without issue. She scanned one of the $50 gift cards. The second one, again, would not scan. However, when we called into the 1-800 number, it said we had $0 on the card. Which we obviously knew wasn't true as it was a brand new gift. So, we ante-ed up and paid for the mixer anyway.
When I called the 1-800 number again, I figured out what had happened. At Macys, let's just say Card #2 (the one that didn't work) was just user error. At BB&B, both cards scanned properly, but Card #1 (the one that worked at Macys) had a pending charge on it from Macys because when he put the money back on the card, it won't go back on the card physically until they close out for the night. In other words, we shouldn't have paid as much, but it's OK. Because we have a mixer.

Notice all the critical magnet of Mike Modano on my fridge behind it. LOVES! :)
So jealous of the mixer! I want one so bad.
